Cutting the cost of IT while increasing agility

DSI help our customers source software licenses and support from a number of leading software vendors. Our advice and recommendations enable you to procure efficiently and cost effectively all your licensing requirements. In addition, we help manage and monitor all software license renewals, simplifying these where possible by consolidating and co-terminating contracts and dates.
We work with a wide range of software partners and too many to mention, some of our key vendors are VMWare, Veeam, Red Hat and Veritas. With our partners, we help organisations reduce IT expenses while boosting efficiency with expert advice and industry-leading software solutions.

Virtualisation allows you to run multiple operating systems and applications from a single server, without any dip in performance. VMWare virtualisation is an enterprise-class solution with automated control functionality. It is highly flexible, available, and reliable.

Citrix Desktop and Application

To be beneficial to an organisation, virtualisation must be highly flexible. Citrix virtualisation is. It allows you to run SaaS apps plus full virtual desktops to any device from any cloud. Offering complete security and excellent cost savings, Citrix is a turn-key virtualisation product.

Red Hat

Your bottom line depends on having a highly available and resilient IT infrastructure. RedHat Virtualisation takes you beyond bare metal to an open, agile foundation that’s ready to take on the future challenges caused by evolving technology and business demands.
Proving the foundation for next-generation architectures, with support for all major hardware platforms and thousands of commercial and custom applications, Enterprise Linux gives you the tools you need to modernise your infrastructure, boost efficiency through standardisation and virtualisation, and ultimately prepare your data centre for an open, hybrid cloud IT architecture.

With more data created in the past two years than in the entire history of humanity, it is no surprise that addressing data growth is a complex challenge across many organisations. To protect the most critical assets, many businesses deploy multiple data protection solutions which create unneeded complexity and various challenges.
From one, elegantly simple user console, Arcserve’s Backup and Recovery solution eliminates these challenges with the first software to deliver enterprise-grade technologies for cloud, virtual and physical environments with the simplicity required by small and overstretched IT teams.

Availability Suite

Customers today demand access to data and applications 24/7 with little patience for downtime or data loss. As a result, businesses are under pressure to adopt an always-on approach, to minimise downtime and guarantee availability. However, many legacy backup solutions offer unreliable data recovery.
Veeam’s Availability Suite delivers availability for all workloads, including virtual, physical and cloud, from a single management console.

Availability Platform

The VEEAM Availability Platform provides businesses and enterprises of all sizes with the means to ensure availability for any application and any data, across any cloud infrastructure, through the following capabilities:

  • Non-Stop Business Continuity to instantly recover any app, any data, on any cloud
  • Digital Transformation Agility with multi-cloud data management and migration – choose your cloud, your way

With data growing rapidly and becoming more fragmented across many clouds and virtual environments, unified data protection can deliver required service levels while limiting cost and risk, regardless of whether data resides on-premises or in the cloud. This allows organisations to:

  • Eliminate the complexity of point solutions and infrastructure management
  • Scale gracefully to mitigate spiralling storage costs and expand into the cloud

  • Deliver as-a-service to streamline operations and improve service levels

  • Build an extensible foundation for enterprise data management

Backup Exec

  • Powerful protection in a single, unified solution across Virtual, Physical and Cloud environments

  • Easy integration with a broad range of cloud service providers

  • Protection for virtual machines, from a single console to thousands

  • Advanced integration with the latest software releases, including Microsoft Server, Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware vSphere

In 2014 HP signed over the OpenVMS operating system to VSI who have been committed to developing and support new versions of the OpenVMS.

Considered one of the most secure and reliable operating systems on the planet OpenVMS has continued to provide the perfect OS for customers running mission critical applications.

VSI have released multiple versions of OpenVMS for Intel Itanium-based and DEC Alpha-based servers, from HPE Blades, Rack Mount Servers, Storage Arrays, Integrity Servers, LTO Tape drives to EMC Storage Arrays, Hitachi Vantara VSP and Pure Storage Flash Arrays.
OpenVMS will be ported to the industry standard x86-64 platform in 2018 allowing users, for the first time, share a common hardware standard with the rest of the enterprise market and enjoy the benefits of:

  • Server consolidation and standardisation
  • Reduce hardware complexity

  • Increase scalability

  • Improve OpenVMS’ already best in class total cost of ownership
